Dr Kerstin Oestreich is an internationally trained Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand & Wrist Surgeon with over 30 years of surgical expertise. Educated in Germany, Ireland, and Singapore, she qualified in General Surgery (2000) and Plastic Surgery (2006) before completing a Hand & Wrist Surgery fellowship in 2007. In the UK, she served as Consultant at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (2007–2014) and Birmingham Children’s Hospital (2014–2022), building pioneering upper limb and wrist surgery services. She now practices privately across West Midlands including Kat & Co Birmingham and Spire hospitals.
A fluent German and English speaker, she holds a doctorate, a Master’s in Healthcare Management, and studied European Leadership at INSEAD. She received the Health Foundation UK Leadership Award and contributes internationally through over 40 peer‑reviewed publications, faculty roles at surgical conferences, and plastic surgery education. She is also a certified educational supervisor and guest lecturer at Birmingham City University.
